MWRA compiled a spreadsheet of all NPS testing results for 2001-2015, and City of Newton Director of Utilities Ted Jerdee shared this with us upon request. Jonathan Dame at the Newton Tab obtained partial records of lead testing for all Newton schools from the school department and published them online. According to the Tab, these records show that in 1985 most elementary schools had water fountains test above the present day action threshold. However, anti-corrosion control instituted by MWRA in 1996 means that the water may currently be much safer than reflected in the 1985 testing. We have summarized post 1996 testing data from MWRA and GeoLabs available in the MWRA spreadsheet and Tab document release. This summary shows that the Ed Center, and at least 10 elementary schools, Burr, Cabot, Countryside, Horace Mann, Lincoln-Eliot, Mason Rice, Pierce, Underwood, Ward, and Zervas, have all had at least one plumbing fixture test above the action threshold of 15ppb lead since 2001. You can also download our spreadsheet underlying the summary.

NPS has also released a summary of 2005, 2010, and 2016 Cabot results following our disclosure of the 2005 and 2010 results at the June 6, 2016 school committee meeting.
